Learning Workshops

Liminal: an ADHD Event

Liminal: a space, physical, psychological, or metaphorical transitional "in between" or a state that is neither here nor there, but a threshold to something new.

Liminal: A regularly recurring workshop for adults with ADHD..

So you, or someone close to you may have ADHD, you may benefit from this workshop.

If you have (or suspect you have) ADHD, hopefully you will leave with a clearer understanding of yourself, a few tools that can help, and a sense of how things can be approached differently.

The next workshop. Saturday October 10, 2026, Christchurch:

Liminal — Living Well with Adult ADHD

Strategies and practices for living well with Adult ADHD

Liminal is a workshop for adults with ADHD, or those supporting someone with ADHD, who want to better understand how things work, and find ways forward that are realistic and kind.

It grew out of a series of small café gatherings in Christchurch in 2025. What started as conversation became something more intentional: a space to think, reflect, and take small next steps.

The workshop combines input, discussion, and practical planning. There’s no pressure to “fix everything” — just an opportunity to understand a little more, and try something that might help.

What we do

During the workshop, we:

Explore key insights about ADHD
Build awareness of how it shows up for you (or someone you care about)
Look at practical strategies and ways of working with your brain
Dialogue. Share ideas and experience.
Identify one or two small next steps to try

Each workshop is a little different, but the focus is consistent:

Understanding, reducing overwhelm, and finding something that works

Key themes

We usually explore three core areas based around three small booklets:

Emotional Regulation: working with intensity, not against it

Executive Functioning: starting, planning, and following through

Dopamine & Energy: motivation, interest, and momentum

The approach

You’ll be working with a simple set of guides and an experiment journal.

The aim is not to get everything right — but to:

notice what helps
try small changes
and build from there

Why Liminal?

“Liminal” refers to being in-between — not where you were, not quite where you want to be.

Many people with ADHD live in that space.

This workshop is designed to meet you there.

What you might take away

A clearer understanding of how ADHD works for you
A few strategies that feel possible to try
A sense that things can be approached differently

Notes: this workshop is aspiring to be evidence based;. it is not a replacement for professional adfvice and help.
